Selamat Datang! Welcome, Folks! Maligayang pagdating mga Kabayan! Welcome to my blog! I'm excited to have you here.
Get Started
Hello! My name is Elona Purba.
I am currently a 4th year student at the University of Bengkulu, majoring in English Education. I have a passion for teaching and a strong desire to learn about various education systems and cultures.
- I come from Medan City, where I completed my secondary education at SMA N 1 Pollung. My journey in education has been shaped by the experiences and mentors who have guided me along the way.
- I learned about the SEA Teacher Project through a friend who participated last year. Intrigued by their stories and experiences, I felt compelled to apply for this unique opportunity. With the support of my family, I embarked on this adventure to FEU Roosevelt College in the Philippines.
- Through this program, I aim to improve my teaching skills by experiencing different educational practices. Build connections with fellow educators from various countries in Southeast Asia. Immerse myself in new cultures, gaining insights that will enrich my perspective as an educator.
Thank you for visiting my blog! I hope you enjoy reading about my experiences and insights along this journey.
FEU ROOSEVELT COLLEGE CAINTA, PHILIPPHINES

Talk about FEU Roosevelt College Inc. (RCI) it feels less if you do not know about it. Here I will share a little knowledge about FEU Roosevelt College Inc. (RCI). FEU Roosevelt, formerly known as Roosevelt College, is a private, non-sectarian educational institution located in the northeastern area of Metro Manila, Philippines. Established in 1933 as Marikina Academy by former Mayor Wenceslao Dela Paz, it is one of the oldest academic institutions in the region. After closing in 1944 following Dela Paz's death, the school was reestablished as Roosevelt Memorial High School (RMHS) to address the lack of secondary education in Marikina during the postwar period. Over time, RMHS expanded to several locations and began offering tertiary programs, leading to its rebranding as Roosevelt College, Inc. (RCI).

In 2016, RCI became part of the Far Eastern University (FEU) Group of Schools and was rebranded as FEU Roosevelt in 2019. The institution offers a comprehensive range of educational programs, including basic education and tertiary courses across its three campuses: Cainta, Marikina, and Rodriguez. The Cainta campus serves as the flagship location and houses programs from preschool through senior high school. The current president is Juan Miguel R. Montinola, with Alma Emerita Dela Cruz serving as Senior Vice President. The school’s colours are green and gold, and its mascot is Tam Tam, representing the Tamaraws, the school's nickname. The FEU Hymn by Nick Joaquin serves as the institution's anthem. With a commitment to academic excellence and cultural enrichment, FEU Roosevelt continues to play a significant role in education within the region.

Closing
Every meeting there will be separation. the thing I dislike the most is separation at each meeting. but it will definitely happen. Maybe when I first came to the Philippines, I experienced home sick because I felt unfamiliar with a new place and wanted to go home. But after meeting the people there who are very friendly and kind, I feel happy and comfortable there. Especially meeting my students in grade 10 confident. They are cheerful, friendly and fun that make my day very colourful there. They taught me several Tagalog languages and gave me a list of languages and sometimes shared their food, things with me.
